......how are people expectred to play these new classes without extra character slots?......out of any new feature to the game....this wouldve been the best...

so basically ill have to buy another account & 2 copies of the expansion.....or delete a character i have worked so hard to create...nice

on the brighter ill get to wear a bowl on my head & play an assasin that looked freakishly similar 2 a ranger......

bring on the new PvE missions & skills for the "core" classes.....the above quoted information has just totally backflipped my opinion on the expansion & i have not even played it.....sad

Yeah...I was really glad to hear that. I found it very cool about their intentions with the future expansions. The analogy between Magic: The Gathering and this game was great to hea imho

I'm assuming that an account made with one of the keys distributed on the 13th would have at least one character slot ? This should handle that problem nicely. Make a new, free account.

Where did you see this? As it would be the stupidest thing ever done by anyone in the game making business. Maybe you misread it, or someone asked the question in a wierd way. She may have thought we were expecting to get new permanent slots added to our account that after the event could still be used. I'd be interested in seeing screenshots of the chat log at the time of the questions answer.

We've been complaining about character slots for how long? Obviously the vast majority of GW players have used up their 4 slots. Myself, I do not PvP, so do not have a character I can just up and delete at random. Now I would love to play in this event and try out the new characters, even though I don't PvP. But are they really expecting us to delete characters that we have put hundreds of hours into?

I'm going to have to assume that until the weekend comes and thousands of people come to the forums and complain about that, that the special access key more creates a temporary new account for us to play the ritualist and assassin on.

You're right. Main hand is a Truncheon, offhand is an Idol. Gogo necro toys.

that would be awesome, perhaps my post was a bit heated........

but as it has since been mentioned, if there is one thing people have been asking for since day 0 it has been more char slots.....even 1 would be nice.

i guess we will have to wait & see.

on a different note......am i the only one who thinks the assasin looks like a ranger but with diff armour?

I'm excited, but a bit dissapointed and feel cheated in that we are only getting 2 new professions. I was expecting 4. We are all going to be starting at the beginning of Cantha, and there is going to be about 500,000 lvl1 Assassins and Ritualists. It makes me not want to play either of them. Even if I just stick with my current characters, i'm excited to see what they did with this.

I don't do PvP, and am now insanely concerned regarding factions. I am in a PvE oriented guild, and despite having had a guild hall for some time, we have never initiated GvG, nor do we intend to.

The interview seems to indicate that PvE is now littered with PvP more so than the exisiting favour issue, with some missions no longer cooperative but comptetitive. Even provided PvE missions and quests remain independant of alliance missions and the continual battle between the factions, with so much of ANet's ethusiasm and hype revolvoing around the alliance/pvp content the hope for pve content seems pretty lowered.

Lets try to clear the air on this.....
1. for people who don't own chapter one to participate you would have to have the preview keys generate at least one account. meaning the keys will give them.
2. No one is saying the new chapter won't have extra accounts for people having chapter one just not for the preview event. (which I believe is wrong)

My guess would be the access key would generate 1-2 accounts more than the four you have and once the preview event ends those access keys would be purged and any items on those charcters deleted. I would be very surprised if during the preview any existing chapter 1 characters have access.

From what I've heard, when we buy Chapter 2, we get new character slots, but for the PREVIEW WEEKEND we don't know. Considering you don't have to own GW at all for the preview weekend, I'm assuming you'll make a new, temporary account with 2 slots? *shrugs* that will simply not work after the sunday.

I would hope you wouldn't be stuck for owning the game already (ie previewers not owning GW get to try it out with a couple slots, but those who leverage their current account - no more slots)

Otherwise yah I have ONE slot IF I hijack my wife's account. Yay.

I think its kind of a cross between a ranger and a little necromancer...the ritualist looks like a necro with some warrior features....they both look pretty neat to me though

Thats what I imagine as well. But I just in case they expect us to delete something, I went in and really looked at my four characters, and I have one that I am prepared to delete if it is necessary. I won't be happy deleting two sets of 15k armor and losing and ele with so much unlocked, but I rarely play him, and could easily get him back to where he was before the next chapter even came out.

she isnt dual wielding, the visible off hand weapon looks like a necro focus item. and her weapon looks like a truncheon (sp?). i wonder what she's doing with necro stuff, i hope its cause she's a secondary necro, cause i want new wands and staves for the ritualist.

Will factions cost the equivalent of a brand new copy of GW? Or will it be around 30$ like most expansion packs (sims anyone?)
